Our creatives get quite inspired when we come across a story that hits home. We are happy to share our non-commissioned Nike spec shoot about the struggles of mental illness and how an athlete overcame his depression, found his purpose, and changed the course of his life and others through training. Featuring professional CrossFit athlete, Bobby Bushnell, owner and founder of Inner Eye Fitness.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
THE CHALLENGE
When we came across Bobby Bushnell’s story, an athlete who struggled with mental health and overcame his tribulations with exercise and helping others, we knew it was important to share his with the world. This video was created to shed light on the challenges and opportunities to persevere people face with mental illness each and every day.
Despite the frigid temperatures, our team created a powerful video that inspired many viewers around the world.
THE PROCESS
We wanted to tell the story from the lens of his perspective. Since his story started back in high school, we wanted to take the viewer back to where it all began for him. We reached out to his high school principal and pitched the idea and story we wanted to capture. The school immediately was interested as they recognized the value of sharing Bobby’s story.
Once we had our location set, we scouted locations within the space that aligned with the story line.
In the video world, we have the ability to help bring awareness to different issues. We felt honored to be a part of the creative process that had such a powerful message.

This video was shared all across social media platforms and received over 100K views on Facebook and Instagram. This piece holds a place near and dear to our hearts. Bobby continues to use this video to share his story with the world.
