JV Studios teamed up with SeaDek Marine Products to capture a brand story highlighting a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing process, from the SeaDek factory to the lifestyle application and experiences it provides for its customers.

The shoot took place across three days in Rockledge and Merritt Island, Florida. The goal of this video was to create brand awareness around the SeaDek brand and to build a loyal base of customers.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

THE CHALLENGE

SeaDek Marine Products reached out to us to help conceptualize a new look and feel for the SeaDek brand. Since new competitors have emerged in the market, they wanted to take an approach to separate them from the rest. Since SeaDek is and always will be the leading manufacturer of marine flooring, it was important to showcase their process, how the products are made, and how they translate the customers experience when applied to their boat.

THE PROCESS

We worked closely with their marketing team to ensure our ideas were on brand. After we got the green light, our team went ahead and started conceptualizing the script, casting talent, scouting locations, and sourcing the right crew. Since a majority of the shoot was outside, we had to consider the weather and how it could potentially influence filming. After filming for three days in Florida, our team took all the footage and built the edit, scored the music, colored graded the footage, and mastered the audio.

Relying on the weather was a huge factor in this project. Since the first shoot day was all exterior captures, we had to strategically map out the best times of day starting from sunrise to sunset. Since we weren’t local and had limited time out there, we had to make it work no matter what. Luckily, we were able to capture all three lifestyle scenes right before a big storm came through.

THE RESULTS

SeaDek was very excited to launch this video. Not only did it serve as a strong brand piece, but it is something they had never done before. With trust, we guided them in the right direction, and the video was shared all across their social channels organically and embedded on their website.
