Connecting with the Consumer: Behind the Scenes at ePool Supply
After meeting the owners of ePool Supply, a pool supply store based in Phoenix, Arizona, it was clear we had a great match. We were excited about the opportunity to create a video that truly connects with their customers. ePoolSupply offers in-person service at their physical location and nationwide shipping through their e-commerce platform. Given the scale of their operations, crafting a compelling story to engage their audience was going to be a challenge, but with a solid understanding of the company’s extensive capabilities, the JV team was ready to demonstrate how ePoolSupply can enhance any family’s poolside experience.
01. Drawing Inspiration
As with many of our projects, we draw inspiration from various sources. For this one, we looked at how companies like Lowe’s and Home Depot handle their customer interactions. These giants excel at combining seamless service with a clear visual representation of how their products improve daily life. They blend customer service with product availability into a powerful message. Given ePool’s expertise in serving pool owners, we were confident we could highlight their role as the go-to store for pool supplies by focusing on their customer support and the joy of family pool time.
02. Executing the Vision
We started with several drafts of our voiceover script before settling on the final version. With the script in place, we moved on to storyboarding and creating shot lists. Condensing everything we needed to film into one day in Arizona was a challenge, but thorough pre-production planning made it possible. Our talent had to perform at their best since we had limited time for re-shoots. Their professionalism and preparation were crucial to the project’s success.
We spent the first half of the day filming in a lifestyle location, capturing shots that would bring our vision to life. We filmed scenes of a broken pool, the introduction to ePool’s website, and the satisfying moment when ePool provided a part that allowed the family to enjoy their pool again.
The second half was spent at the ePoolSuppy warehouse and storefront in Arizona, where we worked with staff and customers to showcase the exceptional service ePool provides. Despite the large warehouse space, we managed to capture everything needed to convey the store’s message effectively.
03. Bringing it Together
With production complete, we moved on to post-production. We had hours of footage and a 30-second voiceover to refine. Thanks to our strategic pre-production process, we quickly identified the best shots and arranged them according to our storyboard. We also brought in a composer to create an original score and added sound design. Music plays a critical role in setting the commercial’s tone, and we needed a track that complemented the narrative, pacing, and emotional highs of the video. Custom music was essential for this commercial, given its broad distribution.
04. The Final Product & Distribution
Directing and creating this commercial was incredibly rewarding. We’re proud of how the vision materialized and excited about the impact it will have on ePool’s business. The collaboration with ePoolSupply’s owners and the JV team was key to the project’s success. In the first 24 hours after launch, the commercial garnered over 210 shares, 285 comments, and over two thousand views with positive customer comments. Through detailed planning and focused execution, we showcased the value of ePoolSupply’s expansive warehouse and brick-and-mortar store, inviting customers to benefit from their expertise and extensive product range to keep their pools enjoyable year-round.
