THE PROJECT

JV Studios teams up with singer & songwriter, Megan Waltman, to produce the official music video for her latest single, “Truth In His Lies”.

The shoot took place over the course of two days in Chicago, IL. We filmed during a tornado storm, a major power outage, all while a global pandemic was still in full effect, our team managed to push through the creative boundaries and execute the vision of the video. Our team consisted of a 10-person crew and everyone played a vital role in the production. This project was a true collaboration.

MEET THE ARTIST

Megan grew up entertaining in the live performance culture of Chicago and has been singing for crowds since her first gig at The Taste of Chicago when she was 12. While living in Los Angeles and honing her live performance skills at USC, Megan worked her way through school as co-host of the nationally broadcast, ‘Nate and Megan In The Morning’ on Radio Disney. Megan’s current focus on writing, and recording, allows her regularly travel to LA, Chicago, and Nashville to perform live.

“Working with JV Studios was a dream. Every single member of the crew truly made the experience feel like a team effort. Everyone’s safety while filming during the pandemic was clearly a priority and was very apparent throughout the filming process. Each person went above and beyond to ensure the best possible end result for this video. I am so grateful to have worked on this project with such a wonderful and talented group of individuals and am very proud of the work this team was able to accomplish.”

THE MAIN LOCATION

When we talked about the possibilities of where we wanted to film, it was important for us to find a location that really stood out. The idea of filming in a large industrial warehouse sparked our interest since we wanted to film in a space that had balanced natural light, good depth, and the ability to shoot multiple scenes within the same space.

To help in the location scouting process, we used peerspace.com, an online marketplace that connects professionals and businesses to great spaces, to find the main location for the performance scenes of the video. This location was the exact aesthetic we were going for and would recommend this spot to anyone looking to rent film space. Check out the listing here.
